UniversalJurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom made its overseas debut yesterday and the first batch of results are… promising. So if you see a bunch of soccer/football puns related to box office for the next few weeks, that’s why. Universal’s Dark Universe kick-off didn’t turn out so well, earning $405 million worldwide on a $125m budget and (more importantly) flopping in North America and earning mostly terrible reviews. France snagged $1.7m, Indonesia snagged $1m (+120% bigger than Jurassic World), Germany earned $865k and the Philippines earned $732k yesterday, which was 27% ahead of Jurassic World three summers ago. This time out, it’s just another Jurassic Park movie, and not everyone who saw Jurassic World in theaters liked it enough to sample the goods a second time.
