PETALING JAYA: Sabah bowler Sushanor Sihanor marked his national youth team call-up in style by claiming the boys’ Open title at the 45th Penang Pesta International Bowling Championships. Sushanor amassed 1,683 pins over eight games to finish 26 pins ahead of second-placed Wan Syahmi Razin Wan Rohadi (1,657) while his soon-to-be national youth squad teammate Hafiz Zainuddin was third on 1,654. The Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School student will join the national youth set-up next year after postponing his move to focus on his SPM exams. In the girls’ Open division, Nur Dayana Zuhdi clinched the crown by just a single pin after amassing 1,561 pinfalls. The 20-year-old pipped Nur Ain Mustaffa to the RM3,000 winner’s purse while national youth bowler Nora Lyana Nastasia Norkamal finished third with 1,557.
