A man from Toronto's Scarborough area is in police custody after he allegedly shot a bouncer after being refused entry to a ByWard Market bar. The shooting took place in front of the Room 104 bar and The Show nightclub, near Clarence and Dalhousie streets, shortly before 1 a.m. Monday. The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) said in a media release that the man "shot at bar security after being denied entry into a bar, striking a security guard twice in the leg." He has been charged with attempted murder, pointing a firearm and several other firearm offences, police said. The victim was taken to the trauma centre in serious but stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, the Ottawa Paramedic Service said.
