Boris Johnson: Dhaka-London direct cargo flights will resume shortly


Dhaka-London direct cargo flights are expected to resume shortly as Britain is going to lift the ban imposed on Bangladesh two years ago. Referring to Rohingya issue, Johnson highly appreciated the government’s efforts in dealing with one of the biggest crisis that Bangladesh has been facing following huge exodus of Myanmar nationals in Bangladesh. Johnson said the government of Bangladesh has shown immense compassion and mercy in dealing with the challenges centering the huge influx of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. The British foreign secretary will travel on to Bangkok for talks with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and also meet the chair of the Advisory Board on the Rakhine Advisory Commission, Surakiart Sathirathai. Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque and British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake were present on the occasion.
