Bond prices rise for second day as inflation stays below RBI target


At 9.10 am, the 10-year bond yield was at 7.366% compared with Monday's close of 7.391%. Bond yields and prices move in opposite directions. Core inflation eased to a 21-month low of 4.55% in April from 5.01% in March. Retail inflation rose to 2.92% in April from a year earlier compared with the 2.99% median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of 39 economists. The rupee traded at 70.44 a dollar, up 0.11% from its previous close of 70.52.
