Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has cracked the whip on Deputy Governor Stephen Mutai making good his threat to deny him key privileges. “We have orders from the county transport officials not to fuel any vehicle belonging to the deputy governor,” said the attendants. In what became an upsetting and embarrassing spectacle, the deputy governor pleaded in vain with the petrol station manager to fuel his car. Governor Rutto did not comment on the matter. Mutai’s official vehicle, a Toyota Prado which like other county vehicles is fuelled at Highway petrol station, was yesterday denied fuel at the pump on what the attendants said ‘were orders from above’.
