The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have called a press conference for Wednesday, where they are expected to formally announce an NFL pre-season game between the Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders at IG Field in August. The game has been rumoured for months after a plan to hold it at Mosaic Stadium in Regina fell through. A date for the game has not yet been announced, though it will be in Week 3 of the NFL pre-season. The Blue Bombers will be in Edmonton for a game against the Eskimos on Aug. 23, so the game could be played on Thursday, Aug, 22. The Bombers have hired a promotion company called On Ice Entertainment Ltd., to handle the game’s operations.
