Friday OlokorThe Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East has become a serious threat to Africa, Prof Aja Akpuru-Aja of the Department of Political Science, Abia State University, Uturu, has said. Akpuru-Aja said, although Nigeria received a commitment from the AU to deploy about 70,000 troops to combat Boko Haram in 2015, “the implementation has remained the missing link”. The don lamented that the AU had been depending so much on external donors to address African problems.
