The tragic discovery was made in the Grand Union Canal in north west London, the Metropolitan Police said. Officers and paramedics were called the scene near Old Oak Lane shortly before 1.20pm today, but tragically the baby was pronounced dead after being discovered in the water. "There were a lot of emergency services there, including a more specialist incident response vehicle. Ealing Police posted on Twitter: "Cordons are in place at the canal near Old Oak Lane NW10 where the body of a newborn baby was found in the water at 1.19pm. "We sent a number of resources to the scene: an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner, a clinical team manager and two ambulance crews.
