The circumstances of the man’s death remain unexplained, police said. His body lay uncovered, near a Porirua stream and in view of the footpath on Main Rd, until about 11.30am. A police spokeswoman declined to comment on why a tent or shields were not erected around the man’s body, to prevent it being seen from the road. Parents of children at the park told Stuff they were shocked to see the police operation and learn the body was still in the park.
