A boat carrying 67 migrants of different nationalities has been intercepted off the coast of Tobruk in eastern Libya, according to a local humanitarian organisation. The Al-Abireen Foundation for Migrant Assistance and Humanitarian Services said the operation took place on Monday morning and was carried out by the Tobruk branch of the General Administration for Coastal Security. The migrants were brought ashore at a designated disembarkation point at the Tobruk naval base, the foundation said. Emergency assistance was provided by the local branch of the Libyan Red Crescent before the migrants were transferred to a shelter centre in the Bab Al-Zeitoun area of Tobruk.
