Two men were injured after a light plane crashed in a North Canterbury paddock on Wednesday morning. Emergency services were called after the aircraft crashed at a farm off Rakahuri Rd near Glentui at 11.35am. Canterbury Recreational Aircraft Club president Doug Anderson said its chief flying instructor, Stewart Bufton, was in the aircraft with a trainee pilot when it crashed. Senior Constable Kieran Young, who was at the scene, confirmed a trainee pilot and an instructor took off from the Rangiora Airfield earlier today. Two people have been seriously injured in a plane crash near Oxford.
