Blown away by community spirit in TaranakiRobert Charles/FAIRFAX NZ Contract milker Brad Markham has been more than impressed with the welcome he and his partner have received on moving to Taranaki. She clearly doesn't appreciate the area being "summer safe", as dairy farmers do. I've been blown away by the community spirit in Taranaki and how rural communities, who're currently doing it tough, warmly embrace new residents. A few days later another colourful flyer invited us to a feast put on by Central Taranaki Young Farmers. It's been a fun way to meet other progressive young farmers and rural professionals.
