Police cordon set up near Shannon after skeletal remains foundDavid Unwin Police have blocked off a remote road near Shannon. Skeletal remains have been located in a bush gully in the Mangahao Dam area of the Tararua Foothills, behind Shannon. The bones were found during a police search of the area on Monday, following information from a member of the public. Police have set up a cordon near Shannon, with forensic teams present at the scene. Police cars and a forensic team were seen examining an area four kilometres into the Tararua Foothills, past the Mangonoa Dam, in Manawatu on Tuesday.
