Blenheim recorded an overnight minimum temperature almost 10 degrees Celsius above its average this week (file pic). Blenheim recorded an overnight low of 11.4C on Tuesday, well above the July average of 1.5C. MetService meteorologist April Clark said the "very mild" overnight temperature on Tuesday night was caused by strong north westerlies. There were 15 ground frosts and seven air frosts recorded in Blenheim in June, both were slightly above average. Total rainfall in June of 18 millimetres was far less than than the long term average for June of 66.4 millimetres.
