Blenheim teenager Nikau Peipi won the 50m, 100m and 200m at this year's Halberg Games. Is it any wonder Nikau Peipi has taken out the overall male champion award for athletics at the national Halberg Games, again? SCOTT HAMMOND/STUFF Nikau Peipi didn’t have much interest in athletics before his first Halberg Games in 2019. The Halberg Games saw 20 different sports on offer including swimming, wheelchair basketball, netball, wheelchair rugby and athletics. Hosted by the Halberg Foundation, the 2021 Halberg Games had a record number of athletes with 195 people representing 13 teams.
