Rugby's woes in Australia have been further emphasised by poor TV ratings for last weekend's Bledisloe Cup test. The All Blacks win over the Wallabies in Sydney was watched by just 371,000 metro free-to-air viewers across the Tasman. The figures weren't great in the rugby strong holds of Sydney (140,000) and Brisbane (131,000)The Bledisloe Cup TV audience was 7000 less than that which watched the NRL club game between the Roosters and West Tigers on pay TV network Fox. The league test out-rated the Bledisloe Cup test in Melbourne but union remained ahead in Adelaide and Perth, where there is no NRL team.
