Angry residents of Manhattan's 'Billionaires' Row' packed a town hall meeting to protest plans to build a homeless shelter in their neighborhood. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced his plan to open a homeless shelter in the ritzy section of Midtown last month. The new homeless shelter is slated to open just around the corner from the Ritz Carlton, a five-star hotel on Central Park South. The Park Savoy Hotel shelter will result in the phasing out of all seven hotel facilities. The proposed homeless shelter will likely open between April and May.
