more-inThe Aam Aadmi Party government will table a Bill in the Delhi Assembly seeking to give about 15,000 guest teachers permanent jobs, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday. While there are about 17,000 guest teachers, around 15,000 have cleared the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), making them eligible for regularisation, said Mr. Sisodia. He added that the guest teachers had been a part of the AAP government’s various education programmes, including reading camps and summer camps. “Now, the Cabinet has cleared the Bill that will regularise the guest teachers... those who have not cleared CTET will not be removed immediately. Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said the AAP had promised to regularise all guest teachers after coming to power in 2015.
