My money, in other words, is not on Biden or Trump. What’s so unfortunate about this turn of events is that incitement to violence notwithstanding, Biden actually said some wise and necessary things about combating sexual assault in his address to the University of Miami. He encouraged students to refuse to be bystanders to sexual assault and he hammered home the message clearly and eloquently that victims of assault are never to blame for the crimes committed against them. Biden wasn’t there to take this kid out behind the rink and teach him a lesson. Violence begets violence.
