VARANASI: To fetch country's highest civilan honour Bharat Ratna for Ghazal maestro late Jagjit Singh, his wife Chitra Singh will pray to Lord Hunumana at Sankat Mohan temple in Varanasi.Chitra, who firmly believes that her late husband deserves the Bharat Ratna, will also sing in Hanuman durbar on the inaugural day of the six-day Sankat Mochan music festival on April 15. "She expressed her desire to offer prayer to Lord Hanuman to take the blessings of Bharat Ratna for her husband. "We wish that her prayer is fulfilled by Lord Hanuman," said Mishra.Sankat Mochan temple was established by great poet Tulsidas, the author of epic Ramcharitmanas. Iconic musicians and artists from across the country take part in this music festival that has been continuing since 1923. For every musician it is a cherished dream to perform at Sankat Mochan Music festival.The maestro died on October 10, 2011.
