The fake seeds are decently packaged and have lot numbers and seals, and are branded the name of leading seller Kenya Seeds. He bought 4kg maize seeds at Sh700 in March awaiting the long rains but was shocked this week to find they had completely been destroyed by weevils. John Muturi, another victim, says that he bought the maize seeds last week, only to find they were all rotten. They both had lot numbers and were well-sealed,” said Muturi.
