Bersatu Youth blasts critics, says Maszlee's use of 'dakwah' misunderstood - Nation

PETALING JAYA: The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Youth (Armada) has chided political groups that criticised Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik over his remarks encouraging teachers from peninsular Malaysia to view Sabah and Sarawak as their "medan dakwah" (proselytisation field). Armada information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamuddin said Dr Maszlee had clarified that dakwah according to Islam actually means "to do good". Dr Maszlee, who has been under fire for his remark, had said that his use of "medan dakwah" had been misinterpreted as promoting Islam to non-Muslims. He explained that dakwah also means "to be hardworking, have high integrity and fight corruption".
