KOTA KINABALU: Local artisans Norkarmila Khairul Ariffin, 33, and Amy Yong, 32, have come together to create Christmas gifts that are both unique and promote good hygiene among children. The duo worked together to make soap bars with Christmas-themed figures embedded inside as a way of educating kids to always wash their hands. Norkarmila, the person behind the ByMielaCarmiela brand, said she provided the figures while Yong crafted the soap. "The soap bars have been very popular among the customers. Yong, whose brand is known as "Amy's Artistry", said the Christmas-themed soap bars appeal not only to children, but grown-ups as well.
