Bengaluru poetry festival puts the verse in versatile


"Poetry has gone back to the youth thanks to social media. He read out unpublished works on coming out, writing queer and his relationship with his father. Coming out of the closet should be as natural as coming out of one's house to go to work, he said. This was follwed by a beautiful session on Hindi and Urdu poetry and readings by German poet Rike Scheffler. "Usually, poetry follows music but for me, poetry is the mainstay, music compliments it," poet and Hindi film lyricist Irshad Kamil said, ahead of his captivating performance with Inkband, India's first poetry band, that drew curtains on the poetic weekend.
