Despite the new financial year 2026–2027 having begun on Wednesday, the government is yet to approve the budgets presented by the Bengaluru corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority. On March 27 and 28, the Bengaluru Corporations presented their respective budgets with a total outlay of ₹20,217 crore. Generally, before the start of the financial year, the Urban Development Department (UDD) reviews the civic budgets and obtains government approval. However, this year, the budgets are yet to be reviewed and approved by the government, and it is likely to take the next three days for assent.
