CALDWELL, LACONIA DAILY SUNBELMONT — Jered David Reed, 40, of 178 Middle Route, Belmont, is facing a charge of resisting arrest after allegedly fleeing from police who were attempting to take him into custody on a warrant from Belknap County Superior Court. Police learned of the outstanding arrest warrant while running a license check during a motor vehicle stop on Oct. 12. The police narrative states, “When officers searched him prior to being handcuffed, he decided it would be a good idea to run into the woods. Both of the officers gave chase and subdued Mr. Reed in the woods not far from the area of the traffic stop. Police on Oct. 8 arrested David F. Melvin III, 38, of 277 Victory Drive, Franklin, on a warrant from the Northfield Police Department.
