President William Ruto has directed police officers to be firm while dealing with anybody who breaks the law during the anti-government protests. Speaking on Wednesday at Kericho, Ruto noted that Kenyans deserved a peaceful nation, free from violence and anarchy. "The police must make sure that they are firm on criminals, gangs, anarchists and all the people who want to cause mayhem in our country." Ruto added that the public should collectively protect the democracy of the country from violence and anarchy leading to the destruction of public property and loss of lives. "We must together against them and tell them Kenya is a democratic, peaceful country where everybody's property and lives matter," he said.
