MANILA, Philippines—The local government of Mandaluyong City is set to place Barangay Mauway under “total lockdown” for two days following the surge of COVID-19 cases in the barangay and in the city. Barangay Mauway, which holds the highest number of cases in the city, will go under total lockdown starting 12:00 a.m. of May 11 until 11:59 p.m. of May 13 as stated in Mandaluyong’s Executive Order No. Barangay Mauway currently has 70 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 44 of which are active, while 23 have recovered and three have succumbed to the disease. The Welfareville compound in the said barangay has been placed under a week-long total lockdown since Thursday.
