SOME of the country’s biggest banks assured the public on Tuesday that their services would continue, but stressed that operations would be limited because of the “enhanced community quarantine” imposed on Luzon on Monday. It recommended that they use its mobile banking and internet banking services. Security Bank Corp. said it opened select branches on the island to ensure that it could provide essential financial services. It, however, shortened branch hours to 3 p.m. for the whole country and deployed a skeletal workforce to support banking operations. Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. said it had shortened banking hours for select branches in Luzon, adding that its branches in the Visayas and Mindanao remained open.
