The manager of a branch of a public sector bank has filed a complaint with the police alleging that one of the ATMs had been tampered with. In his complaint, he told the police that a skimming device was found in the ATM, on account of which several accounts had been compromised. When bank officials started probing the matter, they found that the accounts of those who had withdrawn money from the Kempapura branch ATM had been compromised. The police have obtained the CCTV footage and are trying to identify the person who installed the skimming device. Bank officials said they are probing the matter to ascertain the exact amount of money withdrawn and the extent of the fraud.
