Locals said he was shot by a group of Khasia people based in India. The deceased was identified as Md Babul Miah, 19, resident of Turang village located along the Bangladesh-India border. Locals said Babul had been standing near Sub-Pillar No 2 of BorderPillar No 1,260 on Friday morning, when a group of people from the other side of the border opened fire at him. His body has been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, the OC added.
