SM Mujibur Rahman, the agricultural affairs secretary of Awami League’s Satkhira unit, was detained for carrying a gun into the airport without prior declaration. But security personnel detected a pistol and 35 rounds of bullets while scanning his handbag. As per the rules, a passenger, if he or she carries any valid weapon, is required to notify the airport authorities about the weapon before boarding a plane. “But Mujibur Rahman did not do that,” Shahjalal' Airport's Aviation Security Forces or Avsec Director Nur Alam Siddique said. On Mar 16, a man was detained with a pistol at the airport, 10 days after the similar incident involving Kanchan.
