Bangladeshi shot dead by Khasias along Sylhet border

The deceased Babul Hossain and the injured Koyesh Miah, both in their 20s, are from Lama village of the upazila, said Lt Colonel Ahmed Yusuf Jamil, Commander of BGB-48 Battalion. He said: "Khasia people opened fire on two Bangladeshi persons at around 12pm when they crossed over into Indian territory near the Utma Border Outpost in Companiganj upazila. "Babul died on the spot while Koyesh managed to flee the scene," the BGB official added. With this, a total of 5 Bangladeshi nationals have been shot to death by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Khasia tribesmen in Sylhet border in the last 50 days.
