Bangladeshi nurses refuse to dress in overalls

As many as 60,000 nurses are upset with the new dress code, and have stated that the issue will negatively impact them and their career. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the change in nurses’ uniform back in 2014. Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council directed nurses working in government hospital to follow the new dress code from February 5 of this year. The nurses were requested to follow the new dress code again on May 5, but a majority of both male and female nurses continued to wear their old uniforms. Concerned authorities have been urged to reconsider the new dress code.
