BUTTERWORTH: A Bangladeshi national was killed when a big tree fell on his house in Kampung Perlis, Jalan Assumption here on Saturday night. The incident happened following the heavy rain and strong winds, which hit various parts of the state. Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the identity of the deceased has not been ascertained as yet. “When we arrived at the scene about 8.30pm, after getting a distress call, we found the victim crushed under the tree. “With the help from the Fire and Rescue Department, we managed to cut the tree and found the deceased lying underneath and motionless.
