Addis Ababa, November 22, 2024 (FBC) – During a celebration of Bangladesh Armed Forces Day yesterday, Brigadier General G M Shariful Islam, the Bangladesh Military Attaché in Ethiopia, highlighted the historical significance of the day. Reflecting on Bangladesh’s journey to independence, G M Shariful Islam paid tribute to the martyrs and freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the nation’s sovereignty. He noted the continuous modernization efforts and rigorous training programs that have strengthened the Bangladeshi armed forces over recent decades. “Our armed forces have earned a high reputation internationally for their remarkable role in peacekeeping operations worldwide,” Brig.-Gen Islam remarked.
