Bangladesh in the eight games played could win only two in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Oman and the UAE. Bangladesh cricket fraternity had eyes on the Super 12 game between the West Indies and Australia Saturday. The eight-wicket victory by Australia meant Bangladesh qualified directly for the event for the first time in the tournament’s history. Afghanistan will also play the Super 12 stage directly next year after the West Indies lost the game. If Afghanistan lose to New Zealand in their last Super 12 game Sunday, the Afghans will demote to number eight, but Mohammad Nabi’s side will still be ahead of the West Indies at number nine.
