Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said the office timings for Ramadan will be from 9am to 3:30pm on all workdays, including a 15-minute prayer break from 1:15pm. The new timings will be effective for all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices, Ministry of Public Administration officials said. The Supreme Court, banks and other financial institutions will be free to decide their own working hours, they added. The month of Ramadan may start on May 17, depending on the sighting of the moon. Accordingly, Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to fall between Jun 15 and Jun 17.
