Photo: APDhaka: Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday led the nation in paying homage to 20 slain hostages of the worst terror attack on its soil, including an Indian, at a solemn ceremony in Dhaka. Diplomats, politicians and people from different strata of society paid homage to the victims and placed wreaths during the ceremony at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka cantonment which drew a huge crowd despite light rain. Hasina placed floral wreaths on the caskets of the victims. However, Bangladesh has blamed ‘home-grown’ Islamist terrorists and Pakistan’s spy agency ISI for the country’s worst terror attack, ruling out the role of the IS. At the ceremony, the caskets, bearing the flags of India, Italy, Bangladesh, Japan and the US—signifying the nationalities of the victims—were placed on a raised platform.
