According to the Kazakhstan foreign ministry, 12 of 18 members of the Asian Group of OIC voted for Kazakhstan's representative. Kazakh diplomat Askar Mussinov vied against Bangladesh's Kamrul Ahsan, a secretary of the foreign ministry.Bangladesh government did not make any official statement, but sources at the foreign ministry confirmed the results to bdnews24.com.Mussinov is now working as the director of the Peace, security and conflict resolution unit of the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.He earlier served as Kazakh Ambassador to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the two-day meet on Saturday at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center.
