Bangladesh has reported 2,458 new coronavirus cases, the highest daily count since Sept 9, taking the total caseload to 1,598,389. Among the eight divisions, Dhaka recorded the highest number of cases with 1,979 infections, reports bdnews24.com. Another 274 people recovered from the illness nationwide, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,551,387. The latest figures put the recovery rate at 97.06 per cent and the mortality rate at 1.76 per cent. Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
