After a lot of drama and anticipation, the dates and venues of the 16th edition of the Asia Cup were announced Thursday by Asian Cricket Council. The 2023 edition will feature two groups, with top two teams from each pool qualifying for the Super Four stage. India, Pakistan and Nepal have been pitted in one group with the other pool featuring Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The last 50-over Asia Cup was held in 2018, also in the UAE, where India emerged victorious after defeating Bangladesh in an exciting final. The 2023 edition will be held in 50-over format as the teams prepare themselves for the upcoming One Day International World Cup, set to be held in India in October-November.
