A career diplomat, Ahsan joined the foreign services in 1993. Currently, he is serving as the consul general of Bangladesh in New York. Earlier, he served Bangladesh missions in Washington, Rome, Nairobi, Doha and Kuwait in different capacities. He completed the national defence course on security, strategic and development issues from the National Defence College. He was closely associated with the publication of “Liberation War: Friends of Bangladesh” by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
