The Supreme Court ban on sand mining has disturbed BJP’s poll calculation. However, shortage of bajri has put brakes on most of these projects except Dravyavati River, which is using crasher dust. Following the ban, sand mining from Banas River has stopped for more than a month. The only project where the work is continuing is Dravyavati River project because the JDC has given permission to use crasher dust. With no solution in sight for the bajri problem, it is unlikely that work on these important projects will commence anytime soon.
