Baltimore Orioles not going down easy as eighth-inning homer sinks Toronto Blue Jays

Michael Saunders hit a game-tying two-run homer for the Jays in the seventh inning but that was as far as their seven-hit attack would take them. With one out in the second inning, Saunders doubled into the right field corner for Toronto’s first hit of the game. That solitary run held up until, with one out in the fifth, Pearce belted a solo homer into the left field seats. Saunders worked himself into a favourable 3-1 count, then pounded his 22nd home run way gone to right field to tie the game. It was Saunders’ fourth career home run and ninth career hit (.474 average) against starter Ubaldo Jimenez.
