PETALING JAYA: Youngster Lee Zii Jia finally bagged his maiden senior title at the Polish International Series badminton championships. Said Zii Jia: “This is my first international title since I joined the national team last year. Hopefully, there’ll be more.”On Saturday, Joo Ven outplayed Ukrainian Artem Pochtarov 21-16, 21-16 while Lee Zii Jia whipped Dane David Kim Kristensen 21-16, 21-11. The biggest disappointment for Malaysia was the meltdown of second-ranked men’s singles shuttler Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin. Malaysia only took part in the men’s singles of the fifth-tier tournament.
