PETALING JAYA: In a surprise move, Malaysia’s observer was barred from the second day of the match-fixing hearing for shuttlers Zulfadli Zulkiffli and Tan Chun Seang. Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM)’s Jadadish Chandra, who has been appointed to keep a watching brief, was prevented from attending the hearing for the second day. Yesterday, Zulfadli and Chun Seang appeared before the three-member panel of BWF’s disciplinary committee and are hoping for a positive outcome. The 25-year-old Zulfadli and Chun Seang, 31, were represented by their counsels at the Hotel Jen Tanglin in Orchard Road, Singapore. “The BA of Malaysia are disappointed with BWF’s move to instruct Jadadish to stay out of the hearing,” said Norza.
