Head coach Datuk Tey Seu Bock says the 19-year-old is still struggling with a stomach ailment which has been bothering her for more than two months. The two-time world junior champion faces teammate Soniia Cheah in the first round of the Australian Open starting on Tuesday. “She’s been entered for the Australian Open, so we’ll just proceed with that first,” said Seu Bock. “Questions have been raised as to why I still let Jin Wei play although she’s unfit. I don’t know when she’ll recover fully but it’s the Olympic qualifying period now,” said Seu Bock.
