Ask anyone if they’ve ever seen a kiwi in the wild and the answer will almost certainly be ‘’no’’. And while the kiwi house is one of my 4-year-old’s favourite corners of the zoo, it’s sad to think that this might be as close as he’ll ever get to seeing a kiwi. When the sun goes down is when kiwi wake up for their day and as we all know, they’re called zebra crossings, not kiwi crossings. October is Save Kiwi Month.
